My new collection of poetry now has a release date: November 9th, 2015. It’s available now for pre-order in ebook-format at Amazon’s various outlets, and Smashwords. After having gone through the formatting meat-grinder at Smashwords, it is also available for pre-order at Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and Apple iBooks. ‘Cuts & Collected Poems 1989 – 2015 will also be available in paperback via CreateSpace, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble. I am still formatting it for paperback, but everything should be set by November 9th. All pre-order links can be found here.

This new book contains four collections of poetry. One is a brand new collection of poems called ‘Cuts’. It is my first collection of poetry written in English, and some of the poems have already appeared here on my website as works in progress: DragonGrandmother, and In The Forest, for example.

The book also includes my three, previously published Swedish collections of poetry: ‘Blue’ (‘Blå’) from 1989, ‘Honey’ (‘Honung’) from 1992, and ‘The Third’ (‘Den tredje’) from 1995. All three have been translated by me, and are available in English for the first time.

Translating my own poetry has been an interesting experience to say the least; a bit like time-travelling into the mind of my younger self, and re-remembering who I was, and what I felt, and how the world seemed to me back then. Of course, translating poetry, even when it’s your own words, is a weird and wonderful (and sometimes just plain frustrating) task. You can read some of my thoughts on that here: Lost and found in translation: translator thoughts on poetry & the weight of words.

I have three writing projects on the go right now: finishing a novella that is a bit of science fiction, and a bit of fantasy; finishing my science fiction novel; and putting together a non-fiction book about air-travel with kids, based on the tips and experiences I’ve shared on my travel website Traveling With Kids over the years. Hopefully I’ll get at least one or two of those done pretty soon.
